Well, the sun shone for a while, and the wind dropped a little, and they came out to play. This time I was ready!

Difficult to capture the images though, but lovely creatures to watch, I hope you like them!

ID would be appreciated, please, and also recommendations for a book that will help.

Nice shots there David,great subjects to photograph,arnt they,the variations are profound,plenty of scope to get the whole thing in focus,or be selective with it.

I may be wrong, but I think they are a male Large Red, and a male Common Blue.

Confirmation would be appreciated, thanks.

If you look for that book, make sure its the 2nd edition - its much better than the first one which is what was quoted above.

Its called:
