Red snapper head problem.

Ive just taken my RSH-24 3 way head off my RS 283 tripod, with the intention of putting my RSH-12 back on.
Now i know this sounds silly but i cant for the life of me get the fixing plate with the large screw/bolt off the 3 way to go on the ball head.

Anyone know how to do this?

I will get in touch with Joe but hoping someone will know the solution here.

Is the push lever not moving all the way over? May be a couple of light taps, gently now.

Ah sorry, i wasnt clear enough. Im trying to put the RSH-12 head back on the legs but the part that goes between the head and the legs is stuck on the other head.

See the bolt on the left, it needs to go on the head on the right, along with the round plate

The bottom round bit should screw off also, you will probably find this is acting like a lock nut and stopping the bolt coming out.

Yeah, its stuck solid but im wondering if there is a knack to getting it apart.
Ive tried turning the bolt with pliers but its not budging.

the bolt has a nut molded, the bolt cannot come of without the mounting plate.

It should be a case of twisting the head and the mounting plate in opposite directions.

I can't remember which way it is, but the temperature will effect how easy it is to remove. I think making it warmer will make it easier to remove.

Thanks Dale. The plate isnt budging at the moment.
Good tip about the temp. Ill put in it the airing cupboard over night.
I do remember having the bolt out when i first changed the heads over but i cant remember exactly what i did.

Just a quick update. I couldn't get it to budge so got in touch with Joe at RS and he is kindly sending me out a new plate free of charge, all i pay is postage.

Does the plate have a locking screw that is preventing the head's base plate rotating.

Looking at the underside of the ball head there appears to be marks left by a locking screw

The two heads are different sizes. The plate has small grub screws that can be tightened in to the base of the ball head, as you have mentioned, but these sit outside the base base area of the 3 way if that makes sense.

I understand ... it's just I once spent several minutes trying to switch heads before I remembered the little "locking screw"
