Red Snapper - Separating Head From Legs

Hi all,

Stupid question alert. Just trying to unscrew a panning head from a set of legs, and struggling a bit, as the adjustable rotating bit of the head just keeps turning, instead of the bit where it's screwed in, if that makes sense. :shrug:

Is there a technique to doing this, or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Sorry for the potentially daft question, but I've never needed to remove the head before.

If this is a ballhead you are talking about then there is a panning lock at the bottom of the head which should be locked whan you unscrew the head. Alternatively you would need to have a good grip to the base itself (its really slim so it's not easy - I used a piece of rubber from some plumbing accessories to do it before).

Not a ball head, so I figured this was what I might have to do. I shall persevere with it. Cheers.

Managed it with a big bunch of Royal Mail elastic bands.
