Last two times I visited Formby there were sadly no red squirrels to be seen at all. A local woman said the population has been really decimated by squirrel pox and as the NT don't put feeders up anymore, the few red squirrels that survived tend to head to local's gardens, not the woods

I'm in Manchester and your best bet is Anglesey. The car park at Llyn Parc Mawr has feeders up and you're pretty much guaranteed to see 2 or 3 there.
