Red Tulips (lacking something?).......

Had a bit of a play with the Nifty Fifty again today, I can't understand how such a low price lens can perform so well! It really is a fantasic little lens.

Anyhoo I took these shots of the Tulips but I feel they are lacking something but can't quite put my finger on what it is? Thought someone here might see what I can't? :shrug::bonk:

Nice shots mate. The stems in #1 are a little distracting as are the other heads in #2 but otherwise they are competent shots. Composition could stronger I suppose; I would like to see more of the detail of the flower like the stamen and using the yellow and red as a strong background.
