Used my Nikon D5000, Nikkor 600 AIS ED 5.6. I think I used around 500 ISO. At the risk of sounding 'stuck up' , I am constantly amazed at how sharp the 600 is, when I get the focus and exposure right.(y)

Two good captures lawrence but I have to agree with Tina about a heavy crop. Both images seem quite noisy, almost grainy. It might pay to go back to the original and crop less on them, this should give you a sharper looking image.

You obviously had to contend with twigs a stuff but I think you have done really well.
 
Thanks for the comments! I wasn't on the forum until today, so not had a chance to edit as advised! In the meantime, I took some more, which I think might be abit better. :)
