I've currently got a redsnapper tripod with 3way panning head. I'm happy with the tripod, but can't seem to get on with the head. I was wondering about trying the Manfrotto 322RC2, but don't know whether it is compatible with the redsnapper. Is anyone else using this combination or similar, and can let me know about compatability?

That Manfrotto head has a 3/8" thread on it , I believe the redsnapper legs have a 1/4" attachment
Nope. 3/8" (just checked mine...). They do come with a reversible screw that also has 1/4" whitworth thread on it so you can mount a camera directly to the tripod.

Know what the OP means about the 3 way head... I 'm thinking of getting one of their ball heads...

Ah fair do's mibbes I@ve turned mine around at some point in the past, on the subject of you thinking about a Redsnapper ball head, I'd definitely reccomend it highly, I started off with the 3 way and moved to a ballhead (both redsnapper) and found the ballhead absolutely brill.

Great stuff - thanks for that feedback. (Yet) another thing on the shopping list!

Thanks for the info. Redsnapper ball head is quite a bit cheaper than the manfrotto. Anyone used both and can compare?

and here is the manfrotto on the red snapper, screws straight on , no need for the extra screw that comes with it
i have the another manfrotto head that fits as well
i do have the red snapper ball head, and it is very good, however mine as a bit of movement in the left to right movement. and no matter how tight i try and tighten it its no different

but the 322rc2 is excellent

Good to see the manfrotto in situ. I'm tempted to see if I can pick one up 2nd hand, or may have to wait for Santa!!!

I've a manfrotto 488rc2 on my redsnapper tripod.
I couldn't get on with the panning head that came with it and two different quick release plates was a nightmare too.

i dropped on a few weeks ago, on here, in the for sale section, got the head for £62 looks new

here are a couple more shots one more with the 322rc2 and one with a different manfrotto head
