Redsnapper tripod jammed in 1 go

Just opened a brand new redsnapper tripod and it didn't come with a manual for the tripod or the head which seems a bit odd given the amount of knobs it has.

I opened it once and now one of the leg extension pieces is jammed already? Is there a trick to these or what? The rest are smooth.

Also how do I remove the ball head? it seems to pan around?

The usual procedure to remove a ball head is to tighten the pan control knob until it's locked and the ball doesn't turn (pan). It's usually a smaller knob near the base of the head. Once the ball is locked solid you should just be able to unscrew the whole head by turning it anti-clockwise.

Thanks for that. I've got that removed now as me thinks this is looking faulty

edit/ I've emailed Joe now, will see what he has to say.

edit2/ im returning tripod to ignore now
