First night shoot with my D90 the only editing is a slight crop and straighten but done without the aid of my reading glasses as i stood on them while out:bang:

Can you post them bigger? From what I can see, the 2nd one looks good.

I'd say no. 1 still needs straightening (it's tilting to the right.)
Furthermore, both shots are very soft (which aperture/exposure were you using, exif data would be great) and noisy.
Composition-wise, no. 1 is quite nice and would also look good in B&W but no. 2 lacks a clear subject, with the random barges, the buildings and the ferris wheel vying for your attention. Hope this helps!

Thanks for that i guess i will have to wait till next week when i pickup my new specs before trying to edit and post photos.

Just checked exif is in place:
1st..1/13" f5 iso 2500
2nd..1/13" f7.1 iso 800
