Hi guys,

I'm selling my Samsung nc10 and need to reformat it, what's the best way to do this as I obviously don't have an xp disc with the machine. Is there recovery software to wipe to factory settings?

Cheers.

Adam

Try hitting F9 on bootup and see if the recovery partition still exists.

If it does you van factory fresh it.

F9 or maybe one of the other f keys up from f9 might give you the option of full system recovery.

You'll find exactly how to do it in the documentation supplied with it.

Do you need to complete restore or just delete your own profile? - If you are happy to leave all programs on there you could log in as administrator, delete your user profile in CP, then go to documents and settings and delete your profile folder.

Do you have programs on there that are registered to you that you want to keep hold of?

I'm happy to clear everything off it- i'll grab all personal documents to my portable HD and have installers elsewhere so no worries about programs.

Sorry - I meant do you have programs which are licensed like PS or lightroom that you would want to transfer?

All you would need to do is delete all progs which are yours and then delete your userprofile as above. You could even create a new 'user' for your buyer to use when they get it.

OK, he said he's installing win7 anyway. It's just a case of not leaving anything work related on it really. Not that worried about people going to the effort of finding stuff like, nothing bad there! Nope, no problem with licensed programs. Will give that a go cheers
