Remote control and viewing

With a 20D canon, is the Canon software the only software I can use for remote viewing and control?
I ask as it is a bit hit and miss and a google search has suggested it is a problem
 
try looking at the breeze browser software, they do canon stuff, I have trialled the nikon one, not too bad
 
Breezesys is the one that you want. With a 20D, however, I don't think that you'll get a live view. I do with the G10 that I use for work, but not with a 450D that i use for other stuff. The later SLR's with Liveview offer the remote viewing facility.
 
Not sure if I understand the thread or if this is what your regarding but I thought I link it as so to speak... live view remote
