Remote flash triggering on 7D

I have been having a wee play with my 7D and 580EX II.
I have set the 580 to slave and turned on the wireless flash on the camera. This works just fine except for when I just want the slave to flash without the pop up going off as well. Despite this being set in the flash menu, the pop up STILL goes off. Am I missing something here?

Not 100% sure as I got rid of my 7D, but in the wireless menu on the camera, is the option set as standard for Popup+Wireless, I think you can change that option to Wireless only or Popup only.

Sorry being a bit vague but am sure I had to fiddle with that menu to get it to work wireless only.

Sure that was the setting needed, "Wireless Function" Grey out or remove the Popup flash icon
