Remote for D90

When I sold my D60 and upgraded to a D90 I kept the remote controller ML-L3 as I believed it was the same controller for both. But having read a magazine advert it recommends an MC-DC2. Is this correct. Who has made the mistake here?:shrug:
 
I always forget to google first before asking:bonk: I see it's a remote cord. Two different things altogether.:)
 
ML-L3 works fine on the D90...i have two for some reason and dont even have a compatible camera anymore :cuckoo:
 
Can't help being devils advocate (or an ar5e) depending on your sense of humour, but you have the remote and you have the D90, put the D90 in remote mode and press the button on the ML-L3 remote, does it go off? ;)

Yes well I do have a reason for asking. The D90 is fairly new and I've only used the remote a few times and whilst it did work, there was a couple of times where I felt it failed to fire. Now that might (and most probably was) user error, but that's why when I read the ad in the mag, I jumped on the opportunity to ask from the experts here.:thumbs:
 
sorry I couldn't resist ;)

I have issues with my remote too probably limited range, line of sight etc.

Will probably buy another RF-602 Radio transmitter & receiver just to use as a remote shutter trigger then shouldn't be misfires like the infra red one has...
 
I bought a cheapo one off ebay and it dont work but i think the problem is actually on my camera:'(. However the ML-L3 works fine so all is not lost.
