Remote release for Canon

I am after a remote release for my Canon but not sure which is the best option. Do I go cable or remote control style? I believe you can get some flash slave units which can do this from good distances as well and this could kill two birds with one stone as I will then have some slave units as well.

I enjoy shooting at night and in low light but want to do some car and bike mounted stuff.

Ve tried them all, wired remote, wireless IR remote and RF wireless remotes.

I'd recommend a set of Yongnuo RF602s, there is an advertiser on here doing them for £25 a set IIRC. You can also use them as wireless flash triggers too. I was well impressed with them.

Dave. Just a thought.

Given the 7D has a flash commander, would the following not suffice to trigger the shutter? Then the commander would trigger your off-camera flash/es.

Or is this madness?
