Remote shutter relase

Right, my weilding glass came so I'm really eager to get some shots with it! Tried doing a 30 sec exposure but no good, need alot longer.

Anyone any ideas on what type of shutter release I can get for my D3100? Its got a GPS port and a USB port. Which of these would make use of a shutter release? Just a bit lost really any help appriciated.

If it has the IR port you can get a YongNuo copy of the ML-L3 for less than £2 posted from china. I have one and it works just fine.

Or you can reprogramme an old television remote to do the job....
