Remote shutter release for star trails

Now these long dark nights are here and I work in the middle of no where near Kielder I am wanting to take advantage of the dark skies and want to try some star trails. Now the question is what remote would you suggest I use with my Canon 6d?
 
Just get a cheap intervalometer from Amazon.
 
Literally all you need cheap wired trigger...you're likely to not need to shoot more than 30 second exposure so your settings can be totally controlled by the camera all you need the trigger to do is tell the camera to start the exposure a locking trigger will do this if your camera is set to continuous shooting it will start shooting when you lock the trigger and stop shooting exposures when you unlock the trigger or either the battery is flat/card is full

About £5 will get you want you need
 
Is Magic Lantern available for the 6d? It's great for trails, the interferometer function and mirror lockup are awesome

I don't use mirror lock up for star trails as it only adds slightly longer to the gaps between exposures plus you can only use it for cameras with live view as you have to use the live view to provide mirror lockup benefits, otherwise mirror lockup requires double depressing the shutter release and this is not a viable option for star trailing
 
Really hoping to have a go tomorrow along with trying my new 5d3 and lens :D
