Removing greasy finger prints off imac screen

New screen is driving me nuts as there are greasy fingerprints on it from when I put more memory in it. The handbook says a dry lint free cloth but that does bog all to remove them and has just smeared them further. The sun shines on the screen and I can see loads of greasy marks. How do I get them off without damaging the screencover?

It also seems to attract fluff and dust at a ridiculous rate!

I tried my normal screen wipes but I don't think they are any good and left nasty streaks.
 
just some decent wet screenwipes, all i use on the ipad which is probably the same difference.

to be specific the ones im currently using are "Fellows" Wet and Dry wipes. you get one wet and one dry in a sachet, clean with the wet (and they are pretty wet) then wipe off with the dry.
 
I'm assuming they're alcohol free type that are suitable for oleophobic screens?

A damp microfibre cloth then polished off with a dry one seems to be about the best I can do. Annoying thing is I think there is dust behind the screen cover!

I might try those. If you use damp cloth then you get water marks instead of dust or finger prints!
 
Use a lenspen :)
 
Baby wipe, then soft cloth when dry to remove any residue.

My 27" Imac's screen cover is only held in place with magnets. It came off when I was unpacking it. There are small metal tabs at the bottom that hook into the main case and the top bit is just magnetic. Should be easy to remove for cleaning both sides, although you will have to make sure you don't get dust on the actual screen underneath. :thumbs:

I suspect if I did take the front off the dust bunnies would be worse than if I left it alone!
