Renting spare bodies

Hey everyone,

Im assisting at a wedding in April....i have the Panasonic G1 with a couple of lenses, but i was looking at renting a second body so i dont have to keep switching the lenses...does anyone know if there is anywhere to rent bodies in the dorset area??

I don't know anywhere near you and I have a feeling the people who do rent out bodies mainly do Canon and Nikon simply because they are the brands that there would be most call for.

Is there anyone you know well enough in the area who has a camera and would lend it to you for a couple of days?

Thats what i thought!!!

No the only person i know well enough is a photographer and theres no way she would lend me her kit as its super duper expensive!! so frustrating i dont know what to do
Never mind have to stick with one camera!

You could buy one (new or second hand), then sell it on after the event and anything you loose in the process you can consider your rental charge.

i cant really afford the £400 layout though so thats a non starter as the panasonic is still pretty expensive lol guess im just going to cope with one body and a couple of lenses lol

If you are assisting then you should be ok with just one camera as the main photographer should have a spare that if the worst should happen you could use. Ok you may not be used to whatever brand they have but it would at least be a camera. As for swapping lenses, find out what they want you to shoot and you may well find that you will mainly use one lens so will not have to swap much at all.
