I want to buy a spare battery for my camera. It seems there are a number of "copy" batteries available and, quite frankly, some of them appear so cheap that I find it hard to believe that they are any good.

Is it the case that all these "copies" are not up to much or are there some that are worth buying? If so, could anyone point in the right direction?

Thanks

Some of the copies are good if not better than the OEM ones.
When I had my Canon 1000D and 50D I bought extra batteries from 7dayshop.
If I remember correctly I got two of their own brand batteries for approx £8.
They were excellent and had a higher capacity than the OEM's

As above. I've got two canon and two Duracell, the Duracell last much longer than the canon and were half the price.

Many thanks for the replies! (y)

I'd always assumed that the Canon would be the best and that the cheap ones wouldn't be very good.

I'll have a look at the copies, especially Duracell.

Cheers,

Ged
