Cheers Chris,

Was hoping for a cheaper solution, but if no alternative is available then it has to be...

thanks

Ouch! That is expensive... I might be in the same boat soon though, my 1D charger refused to refresh one of the batteries (almost new) this morning :(

I guess you could go cheaper with a RC car battery charger, they can charge all kinds of batteries such as NiMH, LiIon, LiFe, LiPo etc.. I run RC cars and buy them from hobbyking.com and they have all the bells and whistles you'll ever need. Of course there's a downside to this, you have to specify ending voltages, charge amps, etc yourself and solder your own cables usually. But the price is right, around $50 for a charger + power supply and you can run them from a car battery as well.

The 1D batteries have those huge contacts to put charging clips on :) Or you could cannibalize your broken charger by taking the charging leads from it.

Ouch money,

I'm sure there was a 3rd party charger available but cant find details,
also cant remember if they come with suitable leads & refresh batteries

may just end up biting the bullet though as have 1dmk2 & 1dsmk2 that will be no good to me without any charge...

Also why not try to get someone to repair the original charger? It's probably just a dried up capacitor or something unless the magical smoke has escaped..

OR you can sell me the 1D2 and 1Ds2 :D

Had thought about, have newer bodies but hate selling thing that costa packet for peanuts when they have loads life left in them...

I reckon the flux capacitor died...

It could be as simple as one of the in built fuses that has blown... happened to mine, cost a total of £1.78 to fix (and had 9 fuses still to use!) :)
