Hi guys,

I imagine this has been asked before but I am considering replacing my 18-55mm kit lens for something either along the same kind of focal range, or perhaps a little wider. I enjoy urban exploring so a wider lens would be useful but still want one for a walk around lens. I have a D90 if that helps, had it over a year now and really enjoy using an SLR so think it's time to get some better quality glass. Only thing is my budget is about £200-300, I am happy to go second hand provided it's I get one in good condition though.

Any help/suggestions would be great!

You could look at the 16-85mm vr or even an 18-105mm vr and a nifty 50 for your budget

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I already have a 50mm 1.8 Jjm :), it's great! And I also have a 55-200mm VR. I will read up on the Tamron and 16-85mm. Thanks.

Tamron 17-50 2.8 non-VC. Best bang for your Buck.

Went through a similar fact find and came out to this decision. Think its a great lens and you can pick up some nice bargains 2nd hand.

I've just bought the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 for just over £200 to replace my kit lens (from mpb) if you don't need the wide end. Very nice sharp lens.
