Yes
Im feeling absolutely gutted at the moment.
I was outside in my garden yesterday, taking pictures with my 75-300mm kit lens that came with my 1000D.

I went into a seizure, fell on it, and I have truly mullered my favourite lens :( It is smashed to pieces :( My face is all mashed, and I feel so stupid. I got post-ictal blues, and my favourite lens is no more :'(

I am going to have to replace it as soon as I can as I can't be without it.
Is there a better lens in the same price range, with the same reach? Am I right in thinking this lens to replace would be in the region of £250?

Gutted :'(

Sorry to hear about all of that, don't you have your camera gear insured? Mine is on all risks on the house insurance and would cover that (less £50)

try the 55-250 IS its supposed to be great for the price...

Gutted, but no reason to feel stupid, its not as if you could do anything about it! As you were in the garden, could you not claim on your house insurance? I'd second getting the 55-250 IS which is actually all in all a better lens than your original 75-300, and you can pick one up for £160 new - you wont be disappointed (I adore mine)! If you want another 75-300 I think you can get them for circa £110 IIRC?

It's not covered on the house insurance :(
As soon as you mention Epilepsy, they won't cover.
Feel stupid *** my family keep telling me not to stand up when I am togging if I can help it. I have been so anal about not banging the lens when I have it on camera, and now I have totally destroyed it! :(

The 55-250mm IS....do you notice the 50mm loss?
If I wanted to go up to 400mm, what sort of price am I looking at? Is it a lot more than the 300mm?
I will have to save up and look for a sh one.
