Hi all,

I have a holiday coming up and would like to get a new do it all lens to replace my kit lens, something with a bit more reach that will save me taking other lenses out, a do it all lens. I'll be buying second hand and my budget isn't high £250 max ideally <£200. I'm looking at...

Canon 18-135 3.5-5.6 IS
Canon 28-135 3.5-5.6 IS USM
Canon 17-85 4-5.6 IS USM

Any others I should be considering? What would you pick if you had this kind of budget?

I would rule out the 28-135 as you probably want something wider for shooting a few landscapes on holiday. You might be able to get a sigma 17-70mm which is nice but maybe you want more reach. Then there is the Sigma 18-200mm OS which ok and convenient for holidays.

I'd choose the 18-135mm, gives you a nice amount of range and is within budget. The above Sigma is also good.

The 28-135mm is designed for full frame cameras.
