Hi all

I am running three 250Gb/5400 drives atm, 1 master, one backup and one data and right now the drive speed is pegging back the sytem to a 5.3. Looking to replace the master with a new faster 500Gb/7200 drive but am not sure about something. I know I can create a system image on one of the other drives using the system image option - but can I then reload that image back onto a different drive?

I am running Windows Ultimate 64 bit...

Excellent - so run a back up, run the image capture, add the drive, run the restore?

Struggling to get the dang disk management to run properly right now - keeps hanging

Just tried that and they all seem to be payable... or not W7 compatible.

Easeus is my personal fave

Ho ho. Not Ultimate 64 apparently though.

So, finally got that sorted and am at the heady heights of 5.5 (RAM/mops). This is likely because I have 2Gb only... but if I try to add a pair of 2Gb sticks I get an error and the computer won't start. I am guessing that's a hardware issue rather than a software one?

Does the mobo have more than two ram slots and if so are you installing the ram in the right two. When you say "add a pair" is that in addition to the 2gb you already have? and is that 2gb on one chip or two?

Just two - I mean when I take out the pair of 1Gb and put in the pair of 2Gb sticks.
