I have a Fuji 9600 camera and have just ordered a Metz 36 C-2 Flashgun, (single pin hotshoe mount), which I want to provide backlight to white background.

http://www.bristolcameras.co.uk/p-metz-36-c2-flashgun.htm

I have searched for a cable between the camera and the flashgun, I need the cable to be around 2-3m long.

Now I’m assuming all I need is a cable from the hotshoe on the camera to the hotshoe on the flash.

The Fuji has a synchronizing terminal.

Specific advice needed:

1. What type of cable do I need for this, (hotshoe to hotshoe only or synch cable or both).
2. Where, online, can I purchase these cables, (I have searched but without success).

Many thanks in advance for your help/advice.

I'm not sure what socket the flash has but you could have one of these on your hot shoe of the camera. Then have a cable running to the flash which is on this hot shoe.

That should work but I really don't like running a load of cable around. Have a look at radio triggers or getting another flash and a little light sensor so the flash will fire ;)

The flash is on order, maunufacturer spec here: http://www.metzflash.co.uk/pages/metz8.htm

At work at the moment, best I can do!

Thanks for your assistance (y)

I had a look on the B&H Photo site and they had a larger picture of the flash.

The flash looks as if it has a mini jack hole on the shoe which would mean that you need this. This cable is also made my Metz as well for that flash so that should fix the issue.
