Yes
So I got my grip for my 7d, but now when it has the 70-200 f4 attached and I put it down it sits at a very high angle with the 70-200 weighting down the front in a top heavy type position.

Is this going to put too much pressure on the mount? Should I detach the lens when storing?

my d90 +70-300 is the same, it wont come to any harm just leaving it laying like that

D300 + sigma 100-300 and fuji s5pro + 70-200 both gripped.....I just lay them on their sides.

It will be under less strain than when you are holding the camera by the body and gravity is pulling the lens down!

well i figured that, but the reason i ask is that the amount of time i hold it that way is much less than the days it. might sit on my shelf this way

I always lay mine down on it's side with the 70-200 or the 100-400 on, it's seems more stable that way.
