Reverse command & sub command dial function?

Has anyone else tried reversing the role of the front & rear dials?

Nikon set the default function as shutter control on rear dial and aperture control on front dial, but is there any reason for this as I keep accidentally tweaking my shutter setting when it's aperture I'm wanting to adjust!

It's more rare for me to tweak the shutter speed but aperture gets adjusted almost on a shot by shot basis so my reasoning is that the rear dial is the best one to control aperture rather than the front dial which Nikon set by default.

In some ways the Leica system is more intuitive as it's based on traditional film slr controls, but I doubt Nikon would ever adopt such a logical system.

You can swap them around.

Both my nikons are swapped round,easy to do in the menus.

I'm wondering why Nikon decided to make the aperture control on the front dial when the back dial makes more sense as it's in an easier position to adjust.

Presumably photographers will generally change aperture more often than they will adjust shutter speed?

Yup got them swapped around on my Canons as well. It makes it easier shifting between M and Av.
