Ricoh GR III Owners Thread

What do you think of the built-in recipes? They seem really good to me, especially with the ability to customize meaning you can get final or very close to final image sooc.

And the built-in red filter? That's a nice addition too, no?
I've only used 'Standard' & 'Solid' and they are fine for me.
I am sure that I could work solely with jpegs, they are so good but I want to learn to use Darktable so I will persevere with RAW for a while - I export to PL5 in .tiff.
The red filter is a good option - the X-Pro3 has an Acros Film Sim with options to replicate Red, Yellow and Green filters.
I just think that the files are so clean!

Yes, the benefit of the mono sensor is very impressive!

I have an X-Pro3 so don't need another GR and I don't want to move on the Fuji - I did have a GRiii & GRiiiX a while back but I didn't find it helpful for me.
I've decided to go for the GR IV HDF too, just picked it up to have proper colour and mono pocket camera options and share any accessories.

It’s such a convenient high quality camera that I’m not surprised.:)

Anyone using a hot shoe thumbrest with their GR? Can’t say it works very well for me.

I have one on my GRiv, I like it more than I don’t. It’s horses for courses.

Ok the next installment will begin in a couple of weeks. I am selling and trading for a Ricoh GRiv - looking forward to more simplicity in my poor health issues.
The little Ricoh will be my last bastion.

Sorry to hear of your health issues. I hope you will enjoy this teeny tiny amazing camera.

The main thing I miss is a viewfinder, but I got one off Aliexpress for about a tenner and it perfectly functional. The Ricoh version is probably much better but it’s quite pricey.

I suffer from Small Fibre neuropathy and it is very painful so the larger great camera's will be soon gone - absolutely gutted but the Ricoh GR1V will be great.
When I get one I will be on the first bus to Oxford with a few batteries.
Will post on here once tested
