Rig Shots and rigs

shifting to talk equipment :)

Im looking at building a new rig, does anyone have any experiance with one?

also post your rig shots as i do like looking at them :D

yes boring pretty all been down to death now. better off saving your money on somthing thats worth while lol

Forgive my naivity, but what's a "rig"

Bob

it's like a boom fixed on to the car which holds the camera. Then you can use it to do longish exposures with the car moving slowly which gives the impression of high speed.

saved for helpful post of the year :bang:

I've not looked at the commercially made rigs before, but I thought they would've been more expensive than that.

How is anyone going to learn anything with that attitude?
We might as well not bother with photography at all as all set-ups have been used before?

learn what? to stick a few suckers or magnets on a car with apole/mount to attach a camera. pretty easy to doreally. For automotive work a rig shot is like seeing an image of Buachaille Etive Mor if you are a landscaper.

this is the one i have been looking at, but if people have a better priced ne im interested :)

that does not extend very far so to get the whole car in shot will require an UWA which will distort the hell out of the car. also shopping out those posts will not be easy so you'll have to pic out your points of attachment carefully.
