Right decision ?

Been contemplating to long now I have come to a final decision now ..... Kind of, I have 2k to spend I am only a uni student looking for a camera to see me through my 3 year photography degree course I think I am set on a Nikon d7000 with 17-55 2.8 feel free to mess with my mind more I have been over thinking this for to long so any input might help the combo will cost me around £1600 so I would have 400 for the future ATM I don't care about the fx sensor and don't think I will use it but like the fact the d7000 have 1080p video, am I making a good decision here or should I go for d700 because of better resale value :/ thanks

if you go for the D700 you may have to re think your lens choice, why not go for a decent tripod with the money left over or pick up some more glass such as a nice lens for portraiture/macro work

Since posting this I have found a nikkor 24-70 2.8 for £900 used for only 4 months might be good with my d7000 although I know it performs better with a d700

it won't be no slouch on the 7k either lol, a very very good lens, does give you a fair 36-105 equivalent range on the DX
