Ring flashes

Has any one got or tried one of these

Would like to know what they are like, A canon one is just way out of reach as I am saving for new lens's.

It probably does thats why I asked if anyone had bought one and had some use of it to give an opinion.

Surley It cannot be any worse than the on board flash and at least it will light up the area the lens is pointed at:shrug:

Just had a quick look at some of the feedback:

excellent item seems to work well ,better than waiting for a import ,uk based

Perfect

Arrived quickly and well packaged as described. Perfect light for what I needed

So these people seem reasonably happy with it, but at £45 it's not really a punt (at that price anyway). So it's a judgement call. I'm interested to see how it is too.

There is a cheaper one again I found for £29.90 same sort of feedback saying works well.

Suppose only one way to find out.

Is the cheaper one a flash too, or just a constant light source?

They are both the same model so the same flash just cheaper again, thats ebay for you.

Ive actually got one of these, its a good little ring flash. the only down side i found with it is the LED's have a blue tint to them which throws off the colour of some things on certian shots.
Im thinking of putting mine up for sale and would only be asking £30 minus the P&P, if you wanted to try one a little cheaper than the one listed there.
