Not normally one to post threads about Celebs that have died however Mr Barby was a local guy living only a few miles from where I live, and someone that was a true gent, a genuinely nice guy, he hosted a charity auction in our village once that I remember but I'm sure he actually did it a few times

Someone that will be sadly missed :(

He was only 63 do no age these days.

I really enjoyed watching him on the various antique shows that he appeared in. He always came across as friendly and approachable as well as extremely knowledgable.

Very sad news, RIP Mr Barby.

Damn thats a shame. Loved to watch him on bargain hunt. Always a proper gent.

such a gent. my mum met him at an auction when he was filming an episode of antiques roadtrip, she said he was genuinely touched when she asked for his autograph, as if he wasnt famous enough for someone to want it, R.I.P.

I watch Bargain Hunt a lot  I know,sad ain't I
Nice Gent, one of the better one's to guest there.

If there was one day time show to watch, it's got to be BH. Tim Wonnacot and his band of experts...All very British. Barby was a lovely fella, and although I din't know him on a personal level, I am quite shocked and saddened by his passing.

Ah!
Some one of taste I see.

Awww, that actually came as a surprise to me. Ever since I became a home carer for an elderly mother, daytime TV has become a part of my routine and I've grown attached to Bargain Hunt, The Real Deal and other such programmes.
That is quite a young age to pass away, so, yes I have felt saddened by this.

It is sad, and no age at all nowadays. You just never know what's around the corner...
I wish the best for his family, but I know that's little consolation.

I had to google his name but recognised his face immediately. He seemed such a genuinely nice chap and always looked well, too. Very sad indeed.
