Well caught! He's a tad soft and should sharpen a bit.

That light looks very contrasty which is always difficult.

thanx ....... not sure why its looking soft as the hi res image is a lot sharper, i guess i can only put it down to size restrictions and compression.

Did you sharpen after you reduced the pic to web viewing size Fiona? That always needs doing as there's a loss of definition.

You don't have your Edit box ticked btw so peeps can't play with your Robin.

i only sharpen once usually CT and thats part of the normal hi res processing. feel free to have a play i dont mind.

Well technically, the accepted principle is that sharpening should be the very last thing you do to an image, So when you reduce an image to web size you shouldn't really be doing it from a larger image which has already been sharpened which is why I tend to keep an unedited full size TIFF.

I'll have a play with your Robin but you should really go to your profile and tick your edit box as we're supposed to be quite strict on this as some people don't want their pics editing.

sharpening is the last thing I do to the full size version, which is the one that would get printed from, I keep all the Raw files so dont need to keep an unedited Tiff ( dont have room for it either ) lol.
I will go and tick me box now

a completely painless procedure!!!!!!!!! hahahahaha have to say i like the saturaiton levels in the original but then i guess im biased! lol.....
