Rockingham spots

Nothing definite but the very slight possibility of a media vest for Rockingham in the near future, however I have never been to Rockingham before and although I will spend a day walking round to get aquatinted with the circuit I have a couple of obvious question

1) would a 300mm lens be ok, and

2) where are the best spots?

All advice hugely appreciated. ( Feel free to move post in wrong section)

A 300mm lens will likely be fine as long as you aren't stuck up in the main stands.
My preferred spot is behind the garages on the sharp right hander (there's a small platform there but you're better off getting right up to the wire).

2) Infield - plenty of angles. Outfield - not too many

If you get a media pass and they are running the International Super Sportscar Circuit, I would head for the outside of bend 9, from here you can cover a lot of different angles without having to walk large distances. I used a 100-400mm zoom when I shot from here on a 1.3 crop (1DmkIII).
