Hello all,

I have an ever ready case for my Rolleiflex which is in need of repair. The side panel has come away from the rear and base and I don't fancy stitching it up myself.

Can anyone recommend someone to repair it? Even better if they happen to be located reasonably close to Sheffield.

Thanks,

Mat.

Try to find a old fashioned shoe repair shop or a saddlery, they should be able to do the job.

Had exact same problem. Tried all local shoe repairers and stich shops - all refused to do it for lack of a specialist equipment.
Finally found one who offered to do it by hand. Charged me £20 and did an excellent job - reinforced it with some sort of glue as well.

So the recommendation is - hit the high street and look for independent repair shops.

PS
This is either a design flaw in these cases - you need to pull the side panel pretty hard to take it off to reload the film.
Or I am doing it wrong.

Have you used the case before?

Admittedly not yet (haven't had the camera long) but I fancied using it for a bit of extra protection.

I suspected that might be the case (no pun intended).

The cases can look great, but they really can be inconvenient at times because of the need to take them off to change rolls every 12 shots, to use a tripod, etc. They also require the alligator clip straps to really fit properly, I think (if you’re using a camera strap).

We all have our individual preferences, so I don’t want to put you off if you’re really intent on getting the case repaired and you’ve already thought this through, but I thought I’d warn you that there’s a reason the cases are popularly known as “never ready” cases.

At any rate, I hope it works out whatever you decide to do.
