Roller Bags - any recomendations?

I've just had a look in Jacobs for one and came across the Thinktank Airport Security Bag. Looks awsome and would take all my gear and I can wheel it around rather than use a sling over the shoulder bag. It also looks good from a secuirty point of view which is also important when shooting out and about. I seem to find myself on locatiion(s) more and more and something with wheels that can take a battering and carry a ton of gear is a must rather than my back/shoulder taking a battering.

However it's £265  . Guess you pays your money you get a decent bag. Never had a thinktank bag before - all my other gear has been lowepro - no affinity to a brand but they just had the bag I wanted at the time. Jacobs didn't have any equiv lowepro's in stock so I couldn't compare :( .

So just wondering if there are any alternatives out there and if anyone has/had a roller bag that they found worked for them.

Cheers

Paul

I've a lowepro roller bag, I paid £100 for it.. which was much cheaper than it should have been!

Edit - Mine is perfect fit for budget airlines hand luggage too :)

I believe Calumet do their own brand version of a similar one to mine, which should set you back less than half the Airport one!

Airport security is too big to fit in hand luggage on ryanair and other budget airlines, airport international is the one you want. £235. But it will last you forever. Think I'm gonna get one real soon.

Calumet do a good rated one, but I think they've discontinued it sadly.

I looked at that one but from what I remember it wasn't all that deep. Hmm Perhaps I need to revisit!

Airport international is deep enough for a D3 or a Gripped D700 to fit in there with a lens attached.

It's deep enough for an SB800 to go in vertically. SB900's are about 10mm too long for peace of mind.

It's not quite deep enough for me to fit my orbis ringflash thing in and zip it shut.

Got no pics of mine loaded up, but here's some fella's from Flickr...

I've had one about a month, and wish I'd bought it 3 bags ago.

Search Sports Photography on Youtube and Harry from Getty Images gives a talk around his Think Tank roller.

Lowpro make great products. I have all Thinktank now though and I have the Airport International. It fits in carry on where as the Airport Security doesn't fit the requirements of many flights as someone has already mentioned. Pricey, yes. But you get what you pay for. I found a few used ones in the states and bought mine there. I never see them here though so new might be your only option.

Here is what I've loaded in mine:
- D300 with grip (2 D3's would work as well)
- D90
- 300 2.8 with hood reversed
- 70-200 2.8
- 17-55 2.8
- 3 Nikon SB-800 Flashes
- 18-200 lens
- 11-16 2.8
- Kenko extension tubes
- Battery chargers and laptop power cord
- Accessories bag including L-brackets, gels, cleaning supplies, flash cables, etc. on top of the gear (inside the bag) or a 17-inch laptop inside.
- Also room on the outside for a 17 inch laptop if needed

Very compact setup for transferring a large amount of gear. The only other thing I would consider is a Peli case.

Thanks for all this guys - very helpful. Have just gone and purchased the Airport International. First impressions are very very good.
