Looking for a camera backpack that will carry a nikon d90 with sigma 150-500 attached with lens hood on, plus binoculars and other bits and pieces. Max £100.

Cheers,

Gerard.

That combination (I take it that you don't mean hood reversed) is about 19" long! I don't think a regular bag will do it - I think you'd need something like the Lowepro Lens Trekker 600 AW II. But if you reverse the hood, your options increase substantially - I would look at something which lets you arrange the compartments so that you can use the whole length of the bag. I have a Lowepro mini trekker which easily accomodates my 50D with the 150-500 attached (hood reversed) - with room for other odd & sods too. It's not the most comfortable bag for prolonged use with weight. I don't think the mini trekker is available (new) any more but the Lowepro Pro Runner 300 looks very similar and should cope. The Lowepro Flipside 400 AW looks like it should cope too - and it looks a lot more comfortable.

Edit:

I've taken a pic to illustrate. Here's the Mini Trekker with body & attached lens with hood reversed.

Lowepro filpside 400aw?

Now don't take my fully on it,
But I used to carry my 1000d body and 50-500 trough the middle but not attached. Can't remember how large the hood is so can't guess if it'll fit. Currently 80pound in black from jessops.

If not I'm sure they do somthing like a 450aw or 500aw basicly a larger version.

Best bag I've owned by far! Good luck

Ok, Maybe with the lens hood reversed as it does limit my options with the hood extended.

Gerard.
