Ok I know its not the most interesting thing in the world but anyone over 30 will remember those 30cm rulers we had at school where each 1cm alternated in colour. I have been trying to find a supply of them or something like them for a while to place next to items being photographed in order to show their scale. Anyone know where I can get one from. OR a tape measure that has alternating 1cm colours....

hmm, some sort of local general hardware store? Not a B&Q / homebase!

I have checked ebay already plus several other places over the past probably 6 months to no avail......
 
I think you'll find the name is actually 'rule' :p

I'm only a wee nipper at 24, but I do remember my school having some at one point! Have you called equipment/stationery manufacturers at all?

They are absolutely perfect for taking pictures and showing the scale of the item. I will buy the box of 50 and then sell off 40 of them in the for sale section..... 4 for £2 inc postage sounds reasonable :) That is unless I can find somewhere to buy a smaller quantity!

Oh and a free one to Yvonne for finding them :rules:

Stop it we can't trade in the equipment section. I will buy them if I can't find some then post an advert in 'for sale' and let you know where the advert is so we don't break any rules :nono:

I will wait for the 'for sale-rulers' (rules?) Wouldn't want to break any rules! (rulers?) :D
 
I'm only 20 (as of yesterday) :P But I remember those rulers at school lol. Another option could be to get a set of Scene's of Crimes Officer Rulers. Sort of like the ones you sometimes see on CSI. As they are designed with photography in mind to take photoraphs for evidence with a scale next to them
 
Well I am going to buy 50 and sell them off in 4s for £2 to cover my costs. There really are useful for showing scales.
