Thanks. It was taken at 800 ISO, handheld and I was still struggling for a fast enough shutter speed in the overcast conditions for the 100-400L . Consequently it's a tad noisy, but I liked the pose on this one.
Beautiful - they don't give you a second chance. To hell with the grain, at normal viewing distance it rerely shows. A capture like this with the setting is one to treasure.
I know that feeling mate, I've missed my male chaffinch a couple of times today. The only time I got him it was well blurred. I've been swinging a paintprush all day with one eye on the garden and the camera on the window ledge.
