Article from Nikon Rumors here.

" * Nikkor AF-S 85mm f/1.4G N – not sure about VR yet, but the Nano coating will be added to this lens (previous Nikon patent indicated VR on this lens).

* Nikkor 24-120 f/4 ED VR N – no surprise here either, except for the Nano coating (this lens was reported with 75% release probability back in February).

* Nikkor 18-200 f/3.5-5.6 ED VR – now this one is weird because it’s a… FX lens… yep, full frame! Previous rumors indicated a 28-300mm zoom, to compete directly with Canon, but it seems that Nikon decided to do this one differently (Nikon already has a 18-200mm lens for DX). Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this will be the first full frame 18-200mm lens in the world.

* Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6 ED VR DX – this should be an upgrade of the current 55-200mm lens for DX format."

I imagine the 55-300 is an exciting prospect for kit lens owning D60/D3000/D5000ers. That 85 1.4 looks really tempting to me...

the 85 1.4 has been rumoured for a long time. If we keep saying its about to be released we will be right eventually

I'm wondering how much the 85 f/1.4G N would cost :naughty:
already £800 RRP for the AF-D version

I bet they make the 85 1.4 about £1100 and sell it alongside the old one, just like they do with the 50 1.4 AFS.

The 1.4 85mm is a peach of a lens, so not sure how it could be much better!

the one that interests me most there is the 24-120, I do like the sound of that for the range :)

By adding VR!

It's a shame it doesn't have it as you need to shoot it at 1/90th or so handheld.

With VR it could go down to 1/30th for candids and low light people without subject blur.

1/30th @ 1.4 on a D3/D700? You'll be able to shoot in pitch black!

They are having to nano coat the 85mm coz I keep licking it! :)

Not sure about that one! You won't have a high keeper rate simply from subject movement, I prefer to use 1/90-1/125 minimum for people at the price of bumping the ISO.

I go as low as 1/60 handheld, but below that subject blur comes into play.

Lens-Licker?

Those coatings are tasty aren't they?

I know what you mean though - I bought my 85 now because it's useable on all my cameras - the proposed 'G' series addition/replacement (they run an AF-S and AF-G 50mm f/1.4 concurrently, after all with only a £40 price difference) won't be.

Nano-crystal coating...? Not much cop in a studio shoot, but useful outdoors with lot of sparkles in the frame.
VR would definitely be a useful addition...

It's fair to assume that updates to all the wide to medium telephoto primes will materialise at some point. I'm eagerly awaiting an update to the 35mm f/2.

Judging by the price of the new 24mm f/1.4G prime, an 85mm f/1.4G is going to be four figures at least.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's in the £1500 to £1800 regions to begin with.

We shall see ain'nit.

Mmmmh, nano-licious.

The SWM will allow on-the-fly focus readjustment on the 85mm. I'm sure many people would like that.

I've never really had a problem shooting people at 1/30th in parties? Hence why I want to get the 85 down there with VR.
