I'm part of a team covering the Norwich half Snickers next weekend. Not done any athletics photography before.

Can anyone give me some pointers, particularly which stance I should look to capture - the landing of the foot or the take off? I'm sure there are technical terms!

as its only the joggers its alot easyer to get them in the stride than sprinters :D

Often you want the front foot in the drive phase so in the air, the rear foot touching or airborne if they are really flying :D

A couple of women runners I know were never too happy when they were captured just after the front foot had landed. The skin and fat all tends to plummet south at this moment and can give some very unflattering looks (just like in some of those ultra-slow mo videos where all the skin is rippling...

Personally I always like the ones where they happen to have both feet off the ground and appear to be floating :)
