Hello everyone. I am new to these forums and have never had any of my work judged (if you know what I mean)

I have been reading through the forums and you all seem very nice, social and helpful so I have decided to post for myself. I am new to photography and hope to get some useful tips from everyone and in time offer my help.

Rust is my absolute favourite subject and those are lovely lanterns. The picture is great in terms of subject and composition but an on camera flash is never going to really expose all the wonderful texture and dimension that was there.

Look forward to some more.

I am saving up to invest in a flash. I am not sure whether to buy a jessops entry level or to save and get a Canon one. Would it really make a big difference?
