A rather different pier to the last one I posted here; while Sundown pier is for pleasure, Ryde is a working pier for transport.
It actually comprises three separate piers alongside each other: the railway pier upon which former London Underground trains run, the promenade pier used by cars to access the ferry terminal, and the remains of the third pier between them, upon which the Ryde Pier Tramway used to run until it closed in 1969.
I was rather taken by the naked structure of the tramway pier and the sea-worn textures of everything and the semi-abstracted nature of the images worked better with a black and white treatment.
