Hi all

I spotted this today....

I have one already, bought early this year @ £165 so a good saving to be had compared to then!

Paused on the 'buy' button as I don't need one right now......................but

............could not resist (y)

PS I noted that before my order there were 3% claimed....now says 4% = surmise that only(?) 100 off available?

Thanks for posting. 9% claimed now.

I went straight past pause to the buy button. Please don't post any other deals ;)

it says its USB 3.2 but the top speed of the drive is read/write speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s and 1,000 MB/s respectively so that's as fast as it will go it doesn't say what the actual drive is though?

Google says possible TLC

Ah, I am not too worried, it will just be to store images on as I don't save to the laptops, etc. Most of my stuff is cloud based and I am not sure if there are TB 5 devices out yet for the MacBook and certainly would be more expensive if they are. I was looking at the crucial x9 pro but it went out of stock and it states the same speeeds.

Mine is free - as I got amazon vouchers at work :)

I have looked at these NMVE things but I don't really understand them.

NVME is just an interface similar to PCI-E that graphics card use they are essentially SSD SATA but different and in a more compact and delicate packaging they do need careful handling

I will stick with the vanilla stuff I think lol

biggest bonus with NVME is most MOBO's have a slot so you can pop 2TB on it with a very small footprint at fast rates
Gamers love them

John Lewis also and you get a 3 year guarantee
Interesting that that is what JL promote on many products that they sell.....

Though of note ~ on Samsung's own website they say the T7 has a 3 year Limited Warranty

So, is the JL 'cover' more beneficial than Samsung's?

£128 from Argos for that is alright.

For very similar speed but smaller I put together for £100 during Black Friday when the drive was £85, but it’s still £116 now. So the difference today is about a tenner.

With one it these

The whole thing is tool less, just open, insert, twist a little plastic nubbin holding it in place and then close back up.

Do you just place the drive inside the enclosure and then it works the same way?

See the little nubbin on the left. it just turns and hold it in place.

I have moved this NVME into another faster enclosure later and put a WD inside.

It does the same (thereabout) speed as the T7.
