image.jpg image.jpg Good morning all. I'm wondering if anyone can answer this question.
I'm looking at buying a Samyang wide angle lens for Milkyway photography this summer in the Swiss Alps whilst on holiday.
I'm using a Canon 5dmk3.
When I search for the lens (eBay) i seem to find two lenses at 14mm for canon .
One with red stripes around the body and the other with a gold stripe, what's the difference ???
Hopefully someone will put my mind at rest and I can make the correct choice!
Thanks

I would closely check the returns policy of who ever you buy that lens from. There are a lot of bad copies with coma and distortion in the corners. I had one myself and returned it. But when you do get a good one they are cracking astro lenses for the money.

They have a very good reputation.

Just make sure you buy it from somewhere it is easy to return to, because they also have variable quality control. The only one I owned I returned, it was needed for a trip and the quality just wasn't there, it distant objects were out of focus even at infinity.

It's a very, very good lens. There is moustache distortion but that can be corrected in LR. It's very sharp, I get superb results with it on my 6d.
