I'm very interested in this lens. I took a couple of shots at Focus with it. Seems very sharp. The guy on the stand said it was about £500 although I've not seem them for sale anywhere yet. Not bad considering the Nikon 24mm f/1.4 is going for around £1,600. OK I know it's manual focus but not such a hardship at 24mm. Anyone got any opinions (good or bad) on Samyang lenses?

I have the 85 1.4 and it's the sharpest lens I've ever owned, and ive owned a lot of the high end Nikon glass. It's built well, feels great and most of all Cheap as chips

I paid under £200 for the 85 from UK digital, although they upped the price not long after,its still a bargain. Have a look at uk digital, as samyangs price list on the stand from memory seemed a bit inflated.

Uk digital have it for £519 for Nikon mount £419 for canon.

I also have the 85mm f1.4 Samyang.
Awesome lens. Lovely bokeh, razor sharp, even wide open.
I've thought about the 24mm too, but I have the 12-24 Nikkor, which I find myself using nearer the 14-18mm range.
I am thinking about the 14mm f2.8 now, which for me is a more useful length, but unfortunately doesn't get quite as good reviews like the others.

I can't comment directly on the 24mm although I did have a look at it at Focus... I picked up the 8mm fisheye and if that's anything to go by, I'm sure you'll enjoy using the 24mm. :)

Hi there

Plus one for the Samyang lenses. I wasn't sure about them until I saw a few results from the lens and picked the brains of the TP forum. I bought the 85mm 1.4 as it was much cheaper than the Nikon equivalent. They're well made and the results are ace. I use it on the D90 and manual focus is fine- its easier apparently on the FF range.
