So, they seem to be out in the wild now, and reviews are popping up all over the place.

Don't seem to be quite as well build as the Nikon/Canon version and I suspect the image quality won't be quite as perfect (as the Canon, anyway) or as good as some of the other Samyang primes (35 & 85mm in particular), but who's going to pick one up.

I've just been advised the only one to arrive in the Middle East (Nikon fit) is winging it's way to me as we speak so I'll have to find time to shoot some tall buildings (should be easy in Dubai) lay around with some of the perspective controls.

It seems like a nice (relatively cheap) introduction to T/S lenses at half the price (here anyway) to the Nikon version.

Been looking forward to seeing what this lens can do. Looks like Samyang has made a decent fist of it too. Wouldn't mind Nikon getting their fingers out and producing something to take on the 17mm TS-E.
 
Just checked in the UK they want £949 for this lens? Too expensive for a Samyang for me.
 
Hi Impspeed, would you let us know how it fares when you get it if it is not a hassle? I am considering the same lens, but am wondering whether it is worth paying the extra for the Nikon, which in itself has pretty mixed, and not altogether positive, reviews on the D800?
 
It's coming in at £750 here, so quite a bit less than in the UK. I've put the order on hold for this month as the 400mm 2.8 is taking the bulk of my income, but still tempted to pick it up next month or the month after.

It's getting too hot/hazy here to do worthwhile, full reviews as the heat affects the images considerably and you lose a lot of contrast at this time of the year, however having read the reviews it doesn't seem that bad (for the reduced money it is here) and for someone who's not going to be using it commercially (I don't think TS motorsport images would work really).

Looking at your link it is clearly worse than 24-105 at the wide end. This is shocking bad for a prime. I do trust these guys, they seem to know their kit well.

Why not look at cheap canon mk1 which admittedly is not amazing but should be better / cheaper than this. If it's just a bit of perspective correction you're after, then a good sharp 24mm lens with Lightroom correction works a treat.

I shoot Nikon and the Nikon version is much more expensive, and not actually that much better. I'm not a pixel peeper - must of my photography (this type) winds up on the internet at 800-1,200pixels.

ok so what is wrong with 16-35mm and correct in post? That will give you more than enough quality with more ease. I do this all the time, partly because I haven't got funds for L TSE.
 
Was really looking forward to this lens, but miss the wow! in the reviews.
The "flimsy" knobs are another turn down...

I've decided, it's better to keep saving up and get the Nikkor.
