Samyang 85mm 1.4 Nikon Issues?

Hello all!

Got my new 85mm today, and put it on my D100. But i think i may be having some issues with it? :/

If i set the aperture to f22 the len's A) doesn't shut down all the way, and i can't change it via the camera. But if i take the len off the camera and can shut the aperture up and down fine?

Am i supposed to be able to controll the aperture in the camera? Should i be able to stop down all the way just using the ring while the len's is on the camera?

Is it just not fully compatible with my camera? :(
 
No idea... but if you wanna give it to me... ;) for testing honest... :D


Have you set the camera to manual? (On the d300 there is a lens control switch to withdraw the screw - if its out ... wait scratch that - think thats af only.

Aperture was controlled by camera? So should change auto on shoot?
But the focus was (always) manual with that lens?
See if one of the current/previous owners can assist? Think the 23rdman had one at one point...

Tbh i think it might just be me moaning :P Everything works maybe i just need to get use to it haha.

But i ahve read that i should be able to set the aperture via the camera...

On my D700 and D3100, just stick it on f/22 on the lens and you control via the camera. I have the AE version though, maybe this is the difference?
