samyang 85mm 1.4 on d5100 anyone?

has anyone got the above combination ? any advice is it a good combination - i know it has MF but what about exposure etc . your experience really worthwhile .

i have just purchased one so i will let u know the new samyang has a nikon chip so everything should be controable from the camera orther than focus or so i hope?

I used it on my D3100 aswell as my D700.
Fantastic lens.

Plus one for the Samyang. I use it on the D90. Doesn't the 5100 have a better sensor than the D90.

Tom persuaded me to get one. Best lens I've bought. One from the other day.

I've just bought a used/mint/boxed Samyang 85mm f/1.4, not had a chance to shoot much with it, but seems it gets rave reviews!!!

I will use it mainly on 'aperture priority' mode.

sold mine to get a 30mm f1.4, dont regret it but i sure as hell miss it!

Does the D5100 have the rangefinder thingy, telling you which way to turn the focus ring? If so, should be easier than on the D90!

The D5100 does have the rangefinder, can see it in the viewfinder I had the 35mm samyang 1.4, the chip for the Nikon versions works well. Will do AE, exif info, aperture change through body. Pretty much everything except AF.
