Samyang 8mm Fisheye on Sony A700 image issue

Looks like normal vignetting to me. Strange how it's only in the top though. Easily fixed in Lightroom or photoshop if that's the case.

Could be slight misalignment of the hood, only thing you can do about that would be to take it back.

Dave.

Is your SSS working? When using the camera with SSS on, does the indicator
(the bars) flash?

If its not the lens itself, then I'd suspect the sensor is off-centre as a result of a broken SSS mechanism.

There shouldn't be any vignette on thislens with my sony a700 from what I've read and other users have taken images with same camera and lens.

Yeah it's odd its just in the one corner. I'm sure my sss is working as the bars flash. I swapped around other lens that I have and don't get same fault. If the sss is broke is it easy to get the sss fixed or sensor realigned?

The hood seems OK by just looking at it but it could by slightly out which is what I'm thinking it is. I'm going to send it back for replacement.

I'm sure my sss is working as the bars flash.

When you say the bars flash, do you mean they sometimes show 1,2,3 or 4, or do you mean the full set flash on and off?

If the latter, it's a fault with the SSS, if the former, it's working normally.
